Philosophy in universities: Τhe plight of modern civilization…

No. He did not have a "philosophy degree"...
No. He did not have a “philosophy degree”…

Universities today teach students how to think.

Or at least they are supposed to do so.

Actually most of them just teach memorizing.

But even if someone decides to go study philosophy to a university which really teaches the proper way of thinking… BUT what is that “proper” way?

Philosophy is about thinking on your own.

No. He did not study philosophy...
No. He did not “study philosophy”…

Universities are mainly oriented to teaching rules. And specific theories. But theories are here to be changed, rules are here to be broken. If philosophers follow one rule, that is that there are no rules. Philosophy studies things from a clean slate, no axioms or “proper” methods attached.

No one can teach that. You have to learn it your self.

Even from the very fact that people who try to study philosophy go there in order to “learn” (what? the “rules”?), they are not philosophers for me.

Philosophy historians at most.

Modern civilization is so low that tries to put into a box the very source of human knowledge. The only thing that has to remain OUT of the box.

Think freely. Try NOT to learn the rules!!! _
