Just… because!

It can be hard to dispute the common adage ‘survival of the fittest’. After all, ‘most of the genes in the genome are there because they’re doing something good,’ says a researcher. But, she says, ‘others are just there because they’ve figured out a way to be there.’ (1)

We tend to find reasons for everything there is.

But what is that is not true?

What if there are no reasons?

What if nothing is happening due to something else?

In a cosmos without causality.

In a world without logic.

There would be no need to justify the existence of genes.

There would be no need to justify… yourself.

A free cosmos.

Void of anything.

Full of nothing.

(Just come. Sit by me)

And yet…

In such a cosmos.

(Only in such a cosmos!)

I would need…

To think.

(Why do I cry?)
