Writers vs. Readers

writing-on-paper

People are divided in two categories: readers and writers.

If you are a writer, you should try to be a good one.

If you are a reader, you should…

Well, I do not care. I am a writer.

I disagree. I care about readers because they read and support my writing, they give me feedback about how my writing means something special to them, and they inspire me to share more of what I write.

I absolutely love and care about my readers.

Writing FOR the readers actually means that you are not the one who is “writing” after all. It is your readers…

The caring I spoke of in my comment is the one of appreciation and communication, not approval. How can we not care about who receives our words when the process of writing is communicative, even if it is written for ourselves? Look at this, we are interacting even now—words create communities.

Writing strictly FOR readers is a whole other type of writing which I wasn’t speaking from or referring to, it’s not what I said at all.. but I guess this is what your post was referring to (caring about what “they think” before we write), the nature of the writer, that we must write without care. And it’s true, in that case, if we cared so much about who will read it, we wouldn’t write in the first place!

        Peace & Love,
        Lila

And…I am glad you are a writer. I want to turn you on to our editing book clubs because they are a great way to get an editor’s feedback at a really good price. It’s aways good to have a new set of eyes and for less than $15 per day you can have that. Just in case you’re interested…here’s the link to apply for more info. http://10daybookclub.com
