Saudi Arabia, Shura Council, judging...

Saudi Arabia's Shura Council in Session

Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah has appointed 30 women to the previously all-male consultative Shura Council. [1]

In the beginning I was ready to laugh at this news. Maybe write a provocative post to mock it too.

But then it came to me. Who am I to judge another culture? Who am I to laugh at the efforts of someone else to be better?

A wise man once said "Do not judge, or you too will be judged". I agree. Not because I am afraid of being judged. I enjoy it! (it increases the pageviews of the portal also...) But judging means that you I am implying something too arrogant to be "me". We have been too accustomed to seeing women dressed with... nothing, that seeing a woman dressed in full clothes makes us wonder whether she is ill or sick. Is that... "normal" ? Is that... "culture" ?
