Uncertain, Possible, Certain… The path of Higgs…

CombinedMass

Science Insider reports “Presented in Brussels, the updated plan builds on an original strategy formulated in 2006. Predictably, its first priority is full exploitation of the world’s biggest atom smasher, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at the European particle physics laboratory, CERN, near Geneva, Switzerland. The LHC started taking data in 2010 and last year coughed up the long-sought Higgs boson, the particle that’s key to physicists’ explanation of how other fundamental particle get their mass”. [1]

Interesting.

Up to now announcements concerning the “discovery” of the Higgs particle used words like “LHC possibly discovered Higgs particle”. (see all Higgs relaretd posts – here) Now we have let go of these dangerous words and we are starting to feel more “certain” about our fake discovery. You see, as long as people start to forget, telling lies becomes more easy. Give it a year or two, and we will have “discovered” WIMP as well…
